For the Common Good
I wonder how many others, like me, are repulsed by the apparent greed of the banking world? As we listen to the various discussions on TV and radio no one, it seems, has put their finger on the underlying issue. Greed.
OK, so 5000 bankers in UK are getting bonuses in excess of £1 million each - and other bankers seek to justify that to the taxpayers. They do so on the basis that the best bankers would go elsewhere - and we can't afford to lose them.
But how about their concern for the common good? If the UK is in a financial hole let's each dig in and do something out of concern for the common good. Or is that old-fashioned?
